There is a virus that appeared these days on the Corporate network I work, it spreads via USB flash drives (any removable disk , for that matter). Most antivirus software didn’t detect it and if they detect it, they could not delete successfully.

I have designed a little VisualBasic script that removes the virus automatically and from each infected drives. This script also have been tested in several machines and have cleaned infection sucessfully.

And you can download it here:

Once downloaded, just double click on downloaded file.I recommend once script execution is finished, restart your computer and execute the script again to ensure the complete removal of the virus. If you want to know how this virus works and how my script works, you can continue reading. The behavior of this virus is interesting:1. It replicates through USB flash drives using autorun.inf file. For those who don’t know what is autorun.inf: autorun is skill of several operating systems for execution of commands when a removable media is inserted as a CD, DVD or USB flash drives. In Microsoft Operating Systems if want to do a automatic action when insert a CD, DVD or USB flash drive must contain an autorun.inf file in root folder in each drive o USB flash drive.Typical structure of an autorun.inf file is: Read the rest of this entry »

I imagine that more than once that happened when you were copying a CD or DVD you see the terrible error: bad CRC or bad checksum, we can not copy the disc.! I present the program that has the solution and is called AnyReader. With this software, you can copy the files on the CD or DVD to the PC and back to burn them or use them as best you.Click on the image to download:

I present you a interesting mind challenge:

You have 12 coins.  Eleven are made of gold; one is counterfeit.  You don’t know which one because they all look alike.  Also, you don’t know if the fake coin is heavier or lighter than a real gold coin.  All eleven gold coins weigh the same.

You have a classic balance scale: two pans suspended from a pole with the center point balanced on a post.  The scale can compare the weight of an object or objects in the left pan (L) with an object or objects in the right pan (R ). The scale will tell you if pan L is equal, heavier or lighter than pan R.

You can use the scale only three times for weight measurements with the coins.  Can you determine not only which coin is fake, but if it is heavier or lighter than the real gold coins?  Or, is the task impossible with only three measurements?

The answer, if is possible or not, will be published soon…

Meanwhile you can try to resolve the challenge … And raise your findings in the comments …

I will present you every so often some mind challenges that I found in some books, internet web sites or others, for you get entertainment and break your brain trying to solve them, hehehe,. They are interesting games that require you extra effort.

It no needed to be a Astrophysicist or to have a high IQ to solve them. Anyway, to solve them you have to think, or sometimes think in a different way to get another perspective and in this way to get soluction.

Some ot them will be easy; others so difficult. So let’s begin…

This is one of my first tutorials I done. I finished writing almost late April 2005. And still it is applied in Windows 98, XP and Vista Operating Systems.

It explains what is Windows Registry, and how is structured. Covers aspects such modifications you can do to set up your system in the way you like, even how to handle the Registry without using Registry Editor a.k.a Regedit. Also contains applications to see how some viruses or malicious software can handle registry to intercept executable files until to ensure autorun by itself in every windows boot to ensure its life.

Also contains examples where you see how Registry Knowledge and some tools included in Operating System can help us to fight with malicious software without antivirus software. Nor do I mean that this guide be definitive against all malicious software, but I can ensure this knowledge will help you such situations.

At that time still listening Windows 98 more frequent, which is why there are applications on Windows 98. There are also applications in Windows XP.

Do you find it interesting? Well, I invite you to read it.
